We believe that in art, the weirder stuff is where it’s at. That’s why we are proud to exhibit the kind of artwork other Midwestern galleries don’t want. Faux Pas wants to be a land of opportunity for misfit artworks that push the boundaries. We wish to foster awareness of various social issues through exploration of sensitive topics. Ultimately with our goal of expanding consciousness, we would like to help change the way the world, even if only in just the tiniest bit. We believe this can be done simply by making way for untamed expressions without regard for the Karens of the world’s high and mighty judgements.
Founded by Juan Martinez Jr, Guillermo Martinez, Matt Thompson, and Jeremy Lampkin in 2017, Faux Pas Gallery is located about 75 miles west of Chicago and 25 miles south of Rockford, in Rochelle, Illinois. We have been listed in publications such as the now defunct Invironments Magazine, Ogle County Living, In Real Life, the Rochelle News-Leader, and the City of Rochelle website.
